Today was the first day in a while that the sun actually broke through the winter blues. It’s 60 degrees out in Philadelphia and I was driving around with the windows down. It was beautiful. Something about the sun just makes me feel much better. People are out, restaurants have their windows open, and everyone has a little pep in their step.
I’ve been off the sauce for about 8 days now and I feel incredible. Two years ago I quit drinking for 4 and a half months and it was one of the most productive periods of my life. I also felt so good after a month of not drinking that it felt like I was high all the time. This made me think, “Hmmm, I wonder if this is how I used to feel as a kid every day.” I felt like I’ve been drinking non stop since 18 every weekend and I started at 15. Perhaps it took a month for my body to flush years and years of liquor toxins out of my body before I could start feeling better again.
I want to get back to that period of writing blog posts every day, feeling incredible, and having what seems like limitless energy. I’m off on the right path here, and what makes this even easier is having a beautiful day soaked in the sun. I’m hoping I’ll stop having completely nihilistic thoughts of bodybuilding and having fights with people passing by. When you’re drinking, it can get really dark on the days you wake up after a night of drinks. When you wake up on a Saturday after a night of not drinking, it’s divine. You’re springing out of bed, with absolute zeal for the day.
Best nootropic stack I’ve found so far is the easiest to achieve:
- Not drinking
- Good sunlight
- Clean air
- Lifting weights
Forget all those supplements people are trying to sell you.
Few talk about this.
